Autumn at Tapnell Farm

22nd September 2020

Autumn is here, Happy Autumn Equinox!

It’s a great time of year to clear your head and to get some space, and what better way to do that then to get away to an island retreat, only a couple of hours down from London.

When we think of the Autumn at Tapnell Farm we get quite excited! There is a crisp and calm air that refreshes you after a hazy and somewhat manic summer! We think of fields of gold, and trees of yellow and red. Crunchy leaves under foot on rambles across country trails, and sunsets that light up the sky like a ball of fire setting down on another perfect day on the farm.

Top 5 things about Autumn:

1. Those sunsets!

2. Snuggling up under a cosy blanket with a glass of something nice (whilst watching those sunsets!)

3. The beautiful colours as the tree's turn from green to gold

4. Crunchy leaves and acorns

5. Longer evenings, an excuse to cuddle up with a good book or movie.

When we think of autumn at Tapnell Farm we think of the wildlife around us, going busily about its day getting ready for winter, or the logs crackling away in the evening as you sit around an open fire with a glass of something delicious. Perhaps there is a hearty casserole bubbling away on one of our stoves, or a short stroll across the farm to a warmly lit restaurant that is waiting to welcome you – It’s all very Hygge*, and we LOVE IT.

Perhaps an Autumn escape for you is letting your little ones run wild across fields, bundled up with warm layers and armed with twigs and buckets like little explorers. What new creatures can they find, what new games can they invent?

Or perhaps it’s taking your four-legged companion on a nice sandy walk along beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see! Throwing stones into the sea and sipping hot tea from a flask.

Whatever your Autumn retreat looks like to you, we think you will love the space and tranquillity of Tapnell Farm this time of year.
