Housekeeping Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our housekeeping department at Tapnell Farm.

This role requires strong leadership & motivational skills to ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance across the properties while providing exceptional service to guests. The Housekeeping Supervisor, working under the housekeeping manager, will be responsible for managing a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring the effective use of resources, and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Manage, supervise and motivate the housekeeping staff ensuring efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to housekeeping staff based on workload and guest requirements.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address any performance issues.

Quality Control and Standards

  • Ensure that all areas of the facility, including guest accommodation, public spaces and back of house meet established cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of all rooms and facilities.
  • Implement and monitor cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Inventory and Supplies Management

  • Oversee inventory control of housekeeping supplies, linen, and cleaning products.
  • Ensure that housekeeping staff has the necessary supplies and equipment to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Order supplies as required

Guest Relations

  • Working with other accommodation team members to address guest concerns or complaints related to cleanliness and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure that all guest rooms are cleaned and maintained according to the company standards, ensuring guest satisfaction and comfort.
  • Work with other departments, including maintenance and reception, to ensure seamless operations and high guest satisfaction.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all cleaning activities follow proper safety protocols, including Coshh, handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Monitor adherence to health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of guests and employees.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate departments.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of cleaning procedures, safety standards, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail to maintain the high quality and standards already in place
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Full clean driving licence essential.
