Making your visit to Tapnell Farm safe - Click here for info

Tapnell Farm Park Lookout hr

The safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority and whilst we aim for your visit with us to be as ‘normal’ as possible, additional hygiene and safety measures have been put in place, in line with Government guidelines, for everyone’s peace of mind.

What are your opening times?

In order to stay within the guidelines for reduced capacity, we are operating two sessions each day.

A morning session and an afternoon session.

Please see our Opening Times & Prices Page for up to date info.

Please do not arrive any earlier than 20 minutes before your booked session.

Where can I purchase admission tickets?

All admission tickets must be purchased online. Please ensure you book your tickets in advance as we are significantly limiting the number of visitors in the Farm Park.

NO tickets will be sold on the gate but online tickets can be sold at any time from anywhere if they are available, so you could purchase online whilst sat in the car park!

When the weather forecast is uncertain, we will release tickets for sale a few days in advance of visits. This will allow us to manage numbers in the Farm Park on rainy days.

Tickets are non-refundable, however, we are happy to move your booking to another date/time if there is availability. Please email [email protected] If you cannot attend your booking due to COVID19 we can refund your ticket/s up to 48hours before your booking. Proof of a positive PCR test may be required.

Can I stay for a whole day?

We have introduced two sessions per day to allow for the restricted number of visitors allowed in the Farm Park. We will be closed between to allow for cleaning between sessions.

If you want to spend the whole day, you can purchase individual tickets for each session, but you will need to leave the farm park between sessions.

For the Cow Restaurant on site please follow this link for up to date opening times. Ordering and payment is made via the App (The Cow at Tapnell Farm) which can be downloaded from Google Play or App Store. There is plenty of seating outside.

What can I expect on my visit?

We have made a number of changes in line with Government guidelines but have been careful to ensure these do not impact on our visitors having a safe and enjoyable visit. These include:

  • restricting the number of visitors in the farm park per half day session
  • more frequent and enhanced cleaning across all areas
  • timed sessions on popular play equipment like the go-karts and bouncy pillows
  • one-way system around the indoor animal areas
  • protective screens at pay/service areas and extra signage
  • additional hand washing and hand sanitising stations

All outdoor areas of the Farm Park including play areas will be open, although the bouncy pillows are closed during wet conditions.

In line with Government guidelines, some indoor areas will be closed. These include the indoor soft play, indoor café, roller skating rink and lower entrance/shop. Our animal talks, feeding and petting sessions are also currently on hold.

What hygiene & safety measures have you put in place?

As well as the measures we have mentioned above (What can I expect from my visit?), the following have also been introduced in the play areas:

  • Timed sessions and queue management. Please respect social distancing.
  • Trim Trail outdoor course: please keep your distance from others when using this equipment.
  • Hand sanitiser is provided at each activity. Please use this before and after you use the equipment
  • Straw barn: when possible, we will open the back roller shutter for increased air flow (weather permitting). The tunnels and tee pees are closed.
  • Go-karts: We have reduced the number of go-karts available for social distancing and a member of staff will supervise this area and clean each go-kart before and after use.
  • Bouncy pillows: numbers will be reduced to 50% of capacity. During busy periods, time restrictions may be in place.
  • Mini golf: equipment will be cleaned before and after use by staff. Only one family will be allowed to put at a golf hole at one time.
  • Farm Footy: Only one household group per bay. During busy periods, time restrictions may be in place.

Do I have to wear a face mask/cover?

Face coverings/masks are optional when in the Farm Park - in line with Government guidelines.

Are food and drink available?

Please note our main cafe will be closed, however, we are offering a limited range of takeaway snacks, including sandwiches, pizza, sausage rolls, pasties, cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks. This is located next to the straw barn area and picnic tables are available.

For the Cow Restaurant on site please follow this link for up to date opening times. Ordering and payment is made via the App (The Cow at Tapnell Farm) which can be downloaded from Google Play or App Store. There is plenty of seating outside.

What toilet and baby change facilities are available?

There will be two direct access toilets available, each suitable for disabled use and with baby changing facilities. More toilets will be made available should they be needed.

There will be hand sanitiser provided for use before you enter and social distancing measures in place for any queues. The toilets will be cleaned by our staff 3 times a day with regular hourly checks during sessions.

Will hand sanitiser be available?

We already have extensive hand-washing facilities and these, plus additional areas around the farm park will have hand sanitiser provided too. Please ensure you sanitise your hands before and after using any equipment.

When coming into contact with animals, please note hands should be washed thoroughly with soap and warm water, as hand sanitiser may not be effective enough on its own.

Will you be accepting cash?

Sorry, we have gone cashless across the site to avoid possible transfer of the virus on notes and coins, so please make sure you have your card ready for making any payments.
