Somewhen Survival Society
The Harvest Moon is an immersive folk-theatre production presented by the Somewhen Survival Society. Part performance and part feast, the show draws on Isle of Wight folklore, botany, and oral traditions, inviting the audience to share foraged food and stories as the boundary between reality and myth begins to blur.
This project is a featured commission for the Can You Hear Us? festival, an Island-wide celebration of culture and creativity led by Creative Island. Supported by Arts Council England, the festival runs from 11 September to 24 October 2026 and showcases local talent by connecting the Island’s heritage and environment with the wider world.
A team of leading theatre, design and producing talent has come together on the Isle of Wight to create The Harvest Moon - a new theatrical experience combining live performance, music, storytelling and wild food. Presented by the Somewhen Survival Society, The Harvest Moon across the West Wight at Shalfleet Village Hall, Niton Village Hall and Tapnell Farm this September and October.
Behind the production are four highly experienced Island-based creatives whose careers span some of the UK’s leading cultural organisations and major international projects. Collaborators off Island, this commission has brought them together as a new collective.
