The Isle of Wight’s largest visitor attraction in almost 15 years will be created in 2016, when we add an exciting new farm park and adventure activities base to our growing collection of things to do on site!
Tapnell Farm Park, which will open on June 29th 2016, will become a new all-weather attraction for the Isle of Wight, featuring interactive animal experiences, an immersive “Moo-seum” of beef and dairy history, a large indoor soft play barn with dedicated café and refreshment area, outdoor activity areas with pedal go karts and “Jumping Pillow”, and informative farm tours.
Central to Tapnell Farm Park will be a host of interactive animal encounters allowing visitors to get up close and personal with a range of farm animals, as well as a friendly mob of wallabies. Many of these animals will be arriving at Tapnell from recently closed Island attraction Seaview Wildlife Encounter, who are working closely with us to rehome non-exotic residents and provide new posts for members of their keeper team.
For those in search of adrenaline-fuelled fun, Adventure Activities UK will be launching their flagship activities base at Tapnell, adding a high ropes course, mountain boarding track, zorbing run, rock climbing wall, archery range and bushcraft area on the farm.
The Cow Co Restaurant, which opened at Tapnell earlier this year, will be expanding the popular lifesize painted cow collection, #TheHerd, to create a trail around the site. They are also taking bookings at “The Loft”, a private venue now available to hire for meetings, events and conferences.
These exciting developments will not be the end of our story in 2016. The award-winning Tom’s Eco Lodge will look to increase their range of glamping accommodation, whilst Top Targets aim to officially open their clay pigeon and air rifle shooting range. There will also be special events at the farm run in conjunction with some of the Island’s biggest names.
