Classic Buses and Beer Weekend (and how to get a FREE bus to Tapnell Farm!)
For one weekend only there will be a FREE bus service travelling to and from Tapnell Farm!
Buses will be stopping off at Tapnell Farm every 30 minutes across the weekend and run in both directions between Newport, Shorwell, Hulverstone, Yarmouth and Shalfleet.
To make visiting Tapnell even easier, there will also be a tractor and trailer (driven by our friendly farmer Rex) offering free rides between the bus stop on Middle Road and the entrance to The Cow Co and Farm Park.
The vintage bus service is running as part of the Isle of Wight Classic Buses, Beer & Walks Weekend, a popular event organised by the local branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).
The Cow Co will be taking part, offering 8 real ales, including a specially brewed Cow Co Ale, as well as serving their usual selection of tasty burgers, steaks and seasonal specials. 90 other pubs from across the Island will also be joining in with the weekend’s celebration of vintage buses and real ale and there will be a network of vintage buses running across the Island, supported by Southern Vectis.
Information about the event and bus service including routes, stops and a timetable are included in the Classic Buses, Beer & Walk event programme, which is available to buy for £6.
The programme is available to buy from various outlets across the Island, including from The Cow Co Restaurant. Further information can be found online at; http://iwbeerandbuses.co.uk/
Please note you are not required to purchase an event programme to travel on the buses over the weekend. All vintage buses are run voluntarily at the owners’ expense and every effort will be made to ensure that all services are operated as planned.
A bus service will only be running to Tapnell on this weekend, so be sure you don’t miss out!
